MARCUS MATT

The ink against the sumi-e paper brings calligraphy to mind.
Drawing has the line in common with writing.
The image is a sentence, written, not left to right, but from the paper out into the room.
The words no longer follow a linear path, the flow of
time is interrupted. The words are at once.

These images, or notes, have a similar structure to dreams.
In a dream I was in a place which was an ice-skating-rink-or-playground-or-schoolyard-or-park.
In the dream the place was all of this at the same time, and probably more.
In language it has to be divided.
In the image the whole place is said at once.
